EVEN THE SZENT GELLÉRT TÉR STATION OF METRO LINE M4 IS READY TO RECIEVE PASSENGERS
The National Transport Authority has issued the completion certificate for the third station of Metro Line M4, Szent Gellért tér; the Test in Traffic Operation can thus begin at the end of March next year. Obtaining the completion certificates is smooth thanks to the cooperation between the mayor, the government commissioner, the authority, DBR Metro Project Directorate and the contractors concerned.
THE ÚJBUDA-KÖZPONT STATION OF METRO LINE M4 RECEIVES ITS COMPLETION CERTIFICATE
Újbuda-központ station of metro line M4 receives its completion certificate from the National Transport Authority. Following Bikás park (Tétényi út) station, this is the second station of the new metro line that meets the conditions of starting the Test in Traffic Operation at the end of March 2014.
THE FIRST STATION OF METRO LINE M4 RECEIVES ITS COMPLETION CERTIFICATE
The Bikás park (Tétényi út) station of M4 has received the completion certificate; the document was handed over to the Mayor by Administrative Government Commissioner for Budapest at the site.
PASSENGERLESS WHITE TESTS HAVE COMMENCED ON METRO LINE M4
The construction of Metro Line 4 has come to its last phase: white tests, that is testing without passengers, have begun on the entire line. Siemens, the manufacturer of the signalling equipment, is carrying out white tests until November, then the future operator, BKV, will follow with these tests, and finally the Authority will commence its own white tests from January, in order to ensure that all elements of the trains and the line function without failure, are safe and can be opened to the travelling public.
METRO LINE M4 SURFACE REINSTATEMENTS REACH MAJOR MILESTONE
In relation to the construction of Metro Line M4, significant surface constructions are also taking place: streets and utilities in the vicinities are renewed, and new parks, rest areas and community spaces are shaped with significant green surfaces. By now, the area adjacent to the Bikás park (Tétényi út) station of the metro, the play ground in Kanizsai út, Fővám tér (the square), the renewal of the full length of Kiskörút (Small Ring) from Szabadság híd (bridge) to Astoria are complete. A new subway was built at Fővám tér, and Kálvin tér was given a modern shape though fitting in well with the environment; Rákóczi tér was also renewed and was given an underground car park connecting the station and the Market Hall. The construction of the Őrmező exit of Kelenföld Railway Station, the reinstatement of Móricz Zsigmond körtér and the renewal of Szent Gellért tér, the landscaping of the Népszínház utca side of II. János Pál pápa tér, and the full-scale reconstruction of Baross tér and its area are still under way, but these must also be completed by the handing-over scheduled at the end of March 2014.
THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FIRST STATION OF METRO LINE M4 IS COMPLETED
The fit-out and systems installation works and the systems integration tests of the Bikás park (Tétényi út) station of Metro Line 4 have ended - the station was handed over by DBR Metro Project Directorate to the operator BKV Zrt. According to plans, the handing-over procedures of stations Újbuda-központ, Szent Gellért tér and Rákóczi tér will begin in September, and subsequently all other worksites. Parallel to the process lasting until March next year, the completion certification procedures are underway in order that the Test in Traffic Operation can begin at the time undertaken, the spring of 2014.
THE LAST M4 METROPOLIS TRAIN HAS ARRIVED IN BUDAPEST
The last metro train manufactured by ALSTOM in Katowice has arrived at the Kelenföld depot of Metro Line 4. So, testing of the fifteenth train capable of automatic operation mode along the entire line between Kelenföld Railway Station and Keleti Railway Station has begun in order that all the trains can obtain their operation licence during the autumn, and that the deadline for technical handover can be met.
THE LAST M4 SMOKE TEST BEGINS AT KELENFÖLD RAILWAY STATION ON TUESDAY
The progress of the fit-out works on the M4 Project has enabled the contractor to start smoke tests as of 10 September at Kelenföld Railway Station, which involves the emission of a large quantity, c. 20 cubic metres, of white, non-toxic gas, i.e. one non-detrimental to health, starting from platform level and reaching up to the surface.
THE SOUTHERN SECTION OF THE PEST-SIDE QUAY CLOSED FOR TWO WEEKS DUE TO RECONSTRUCTION
The Salkaházi Sára rakpart, the Pest-side quay between Szabadság híd (Liberty Bridge) and Közraktár utca, is being reconstructed due partly to the M4 station construction works and to the damages caused by the recent floods. The Salkaházi quay will be closed to traffic for the period of the works starting on Saturday 3 August 2013 and lasting for about two weeks. BKK suggests Belgrád rakpart, Fővám tér and Sóház utca as an alternative route from the north and the Buda quay from the south.
SMOKE TESTS BEGIN AGAIN ON TUESDAY AT THE II. JÁNOS PÁL PÁPA TÉR STATION OF METROLINE M4
The contractor is to hold so-called decreased-amount smoke tests from Tuesday, 3 July 2013, at the II. János Pál pápa tér station of the Metro Line 4, becasue the competent authoirty did not accept the insulation of the doors of the operational areas at the smoke tests held earlier.
