THE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AT SASADI ÚT TRANFERRED

9 march 2015

As a surface-reinstatement part of the Metro Line M4 project, the construction of the new two-level junction on Budaörsi út has reached a new stage, and so, in order to commence building its diaphragm walls as soon as possible, the contractor has shifted the pedestrian overpass at Sasadi út by 20 metres in the direction of the city.

The transfer took place during the night on Saturday 7 March 2015, taking some four hours to complete as the section of Budaörsi út between Pannonhalmi út and Beregszász út was completely shut down. The designing of the work took a week, preparations for it two and the permitting procedure about a month. The construction of the bridgeheads and their foundations lasted for about three weeks. The cranes had to lift and shift a weight of 35 tonnes all together, and the work procedure was aided by a further 30 machines.
