Trams run again on Fehérvári Road
The tram traffic restarts on Fehérvári Road as early as 23 July well before scheduled the date of August promised last year. The sidewalls and the floor of Bocskai Station were complete last year and a large part of the previously closed area is available again for the traffic.
From now, the construction of the station will go on under the surface with the use of deep construction method. Thus, the tram traffic may restart on 23 July and, and shortly after this date, the road traffic may also restart in the odd numbered side of the road in a single lane for each direction. The vehicles will run more smoothly and quietly on their new rubber mounted tracks and will less disturb the residents of the adjacent areas.
From 23 July to 20 August, the Trams no. 18, 19, 41 and 118 will again run on their original line. The Trams no. 47 and 49 will travel on a shorter line, up to Lónyai Street only. At the same time, the Tram number 18A will cease.
The trams travelling through the Szabadság Bridge will stop at a temporary terminal at Lónyai Street, until the start of the bridge reconstruction on 20 August. For a more comfortable journey, the tram substitution buses 47-49V will run on a similar route from Móricz Zsigmond Circus (Móricz Zsigmond Körtér) up to Deák Ferenc Square.
Substitution buses 41V and 18-47V will not run during this period. Due to the closed Szabadság Bridge and the construction of Metro Line 4, the tram traffic will change several times in the near future. Passengers will be kept informed of these changes.
The Metropolitan Municipality, BKV Ltd and the construction companies wish hereby express their thanks for your patience.
