PANORAMIC IMAGES OF STATION CONSTRUCTION
A spectacular panoramic image of the Móricz Zsigmond Circus station has been prepared recently. It can be zoomed and rotated in all directions giving the impression of presence inside the giant engineering structure under construction.
The image shows the internal space of the Móricz Zsigmond Circus station. The photographer stood on the final support slab along the beams covered with chipboards, at about eight to ten meters depth under the surface. The chipboard covering on beams serves to protect the visible concrete surface.
The picture was taken from the side of the construction site towards St. Gellért Square. It shows the space of the station with side walls tapering upwards. There are ventilation channels in both directors beyond the walls. The large fake “windows” in the walls also serve the purpose of ventilation.
The contractor’s staff do finishing work on the concrete surface using a bucket-type hoist. A tower crane’s leg standing nearby on the surface at Karinthy Street can be seen.
On the top there is a temporary pipe support, above which the lower slab of the underpass above the station with a provisional transfer chute can be seen.
Below the track of a small-gauge railway running on the blinding layer of concrete on the base plate can be seen. The TBM arrived earlier at the station sliding on the same blinding layer of concrete.
The arched screen under the tapered walls redirects smoke toward the vent in the case of fire.
