29 march 2007

This is the first time when changes in traffic are induced by the construction of the stations of the 4th line of the Metro on the Pest side of the Capital.

Due to the construction of the shunt track articulated Ganz trams 19 and 49 will travel this weekend for the whole day (on March 31st and April 1st) between Etele Square , Kelenföld Railway Station and Batthyány Square from Kálvin Square. The first trains start from the Etele Square terminus at 4.14 a.m., from Batthyány Square – at 4.28 a.m.; the last trams will leave at 23.29 p.m. and 23.43 p.m., respectively; during the day the train succession is 7 to 8 minutes.
From Monday April 2nd trams 49 will travel between Etele Square, Kelenföld Railway Station and Kálvin Square (Lónyay Street) after the completion of the shunt. The train succession in the daytime is 3-4 minutes.
Buses substituting trams 18-47V travel along an extended route to the Deák Ferenc Square. The buses will carry passengers between the Hengermalom Road and Deák Ferenc Square; transfer from tram line 49 will be provided at the temporary tram terminus at Lónyay Street. The substitute buses travelling along an extended route start at 4.35 a.m. at Hengermalom Road and 4.36 a.m. from Deák Ferenc Square, respectively. The last daily departures are at 23.35 p.m. and 23.43 p.m., respectively.
Tram 49 following a reduced route travel from Etele Square from 4.14 a.m. to 23.29 p.m.; from Kálvin Square from 4.35 a.m. to 23.48 p.m.
Advertisements placed in stops, placards placed in the vehicles and information billboards in the junctions along the routes inform passengers about the changes and the timetable of various means of public transport. Local residents get detailed information about the substitution buses and redirection of traffic in fliers delivered to their mailbox.
Only one lane will be open for traffic along the Vámház Boulevard due to the construction of the metro station. The buses substituting trams will use the same traffic lane. Car owners are asked for patience and understanding because in the bus stops buses may hinder car traffic for a short while when passengers get on and off in the stops. At the same time patrons are asked to follow the parking rules so that the traffic of BKV vehicles is not hindered.
The general public will continuously receive news about the latest developments. For any updates or queries please call the Customer Service of BKV Private Limited Company at 06-1/461-6688 and 06-80/40-6688, or contact us at ugyfelszolgalat@bkv.hu for replies in E-mail.
We ask the patience and apprehension of local residents and passengers for any inconvenience until the completion of construction.
On March 27th 2007.
