A projekt az Európai Unió támogatásával, a Kohéziós Alap társfinanszírozásával valósul meg.

HERE IS THE FIRST WORK SITE HANDED BACK TO CITY RESIDENTS

17 september 2009

This morning the metro builders handed over to the children of District 11 that modern playground, which was refurbished in the framework of surface projects in relation to the construction of metro 4. On the event Imre Lakos, chairman of the Committee of Urban and Environmental Management of Budapest, Gyula Molnár, mayor of Újbuda, and Gusztáv Klados, project director of DBR were also present. However, the light is not seen at the end of the tunnel yet, but after those closures the time of handing back areas may begin.

The project is at nearly 60% completion. The construction of metro 4 has arrived to an important milestone: albeit the tunnel construction is well in process at the Pest side, it is time that the metro builders began to hand back the completed final surface areas to the residents. In relation to the Bocskai road station of metro 4, construction of the vent tunnel beneath the junction of Fehérvári road and Kanizsai Street is finished. Since at the surface the work site would no longer be needed, by today at its old place a completely new and modern playground could be built, which is in full compliance with EU norms.

To the area of nearly 2,500 m2 the most modern equipment was installed, from now the kids of Újbuda may spend their free time here with their parents with the feeling of the "treasure island". Designers endeavored to conjure up the atmosphere with beach, palm trees and jungle items. The playground may be used by more age-groups, as it will provide recreational opportunities for 1 to 3 and 4 to 12 year-olds, as well. The project was completed from nearly 40 million Forints, which is part of the metro 4 budget.

Within the frame of the associated surface projects the District 8 side of Múzeum Boulevard is completed, and respectively rehabilitation of the traffic lanes by District 5 has started also. In October 2009, DBR will complete the final pavement over the section between Szabadság Bridge and Kálvin Square of Kiskörút, and moreover according to plans as of the end of October those arriving from Szabadság Bridge may also pass over one lane at Kálvin Square towards Astoria. Within the catchment area of station constructions majority of the work sites will remain by the end of 2010 or first half of 2011 though, but by the progress of works DBR will try to hand back as many areas as possible to city residents as soon as possible.
