The construction of the 4th line of the Metro is the largest public transport project in the past 30 years in Budapest. The project is an extremely exciting engineering and architectural challenge for expert and layman alike. Hundreds of experts are involved day by day in the construction of the 4th line of the Metro.
All facilities including the tunnels, stations, etc. are built by the use of state-of-the-art technologies available from global leaders in the industry. The information center at the Etele Square implemented by the Metro Municipality and the Budapest Public Transport Private Limited Company (BKV Zrt.) serves the purpose of bringing the details of the Metro Project closer to the layman.
At the information center to be inaugurated at the Etele Square all visitors may get an insight into the most exciting details of the construction of the metropolitan. The on-going addition of new exhibits provide a clear explanation for the layman about the construction of tunnels and stations, the new trains of the Metro and the brief background of the Budapest Metro. Experts answer the queries of the visitors. The information center is more than an exhibition hall: it is also meant as a starting point of professional visits. In the future visitors will have the opportunity to visit construction sites including tunnel construction.
The information center is open for visitors on Wednesday and Friday from 14.00 p.m. to 18.00 p.m., and on Tuesday and Thursday from 9.00 a.m. to 13.00 p.m.
