A SPECIAL DEDICATION PAINTED ON THE BOARDING FENCE OF THE CONSTRUCTION SITE IN KÁLVIN SQUARE
Art-school students painted a metro train on the boarding plank of the construction site of the Kálvin Square station of the 4th line of the metropolitan. The organizers of the Ráday Art Street, co-sponsored by the Municipality of Ferencváros, wish to publicize the events in this manner.
This is not a unique initiative: DBR Metro Project Directorate intends to offer more space and room for future municipal events to offset, at least partly, the temporary inconveniences caused by construction to local residents and businesses.
The Ferencváros Community Centre and the Ráday Art Street invited the students of the Ferencváros Specialized School of Art and Design to paint the boarding plank. This school is also known as the training-school of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. Apart from popularizing the events of the Art Street the paintings will also serve as way-marks to direct pedestrians, passers-by and visitors of festivals, theatres, galleries and museums towards Ráday Street..
It is the intention to turn the 4th line of the metropolitan, the symbol of the 21st century, into the integral part of the cultural life of Budapest. The DBR Metro Project Directorate gladly provided room for publicizing and evoking on the boarding plank of the future metro station the cultural events of the Ráday Art Street.
The painting on the planking board of the Kálvin Square construction site is just the first step: the intention is to offer in the future the so far unused boarding planks of the project of the 4th line of the metropolitan for all initiatives in support of the cultural events of the given municipality.
