A HUNGARIAN ROCK BAND, AMNESZTIA, TOOK OVER METRO 4 YESTERDAY

27 june 2009

Metro 4 as being constructed accommodated another concert on Friday, 26th June: this time the rock band Amnesztia choose an unusual venue to its second album release concert. At the Népszínház street station the “platform rock” was pounding nearly 20 meters deep underground with Tamás Takáts guest starring.
A real “underground” feeling welcomed the visitors coming to the concert of Amnesztia at Friday night in the metro 4 Népszínház street station built by Bilfinger Berger, Porr and Vegyépszer, where the modern rock music got the main role following the concert of Keep Floyding at Rákóczi square reminiscent of the atmosphere of the 70's. To the Amnesztia’s own organized event the DBR Metro Project Directorate and the Contractor were pleased to provide the grandiose scene for the band to present its second album “Without fear” in real extreme circumstances.

A special musical experience suited to the special location was waiting for the concert audience of about four hundred people, who could enjoy Tamás Takáts (Karthago, East, Blues Band) as a guest star on the stage, who enhanced the evening’s atmosphere with blues tunes as usual of him, and prepared a song together with the band for this occasion.

The Népszínház street station is also at approximately 90% structural completion, and this new event offered an opportunity as well for the public to see where the construction is at. This concert now is also part of that series of events started last autumn, by which the metro builders would like to outreach for the underground art and culture by providing opportunities with special locations and surfaces for the introduction of talented young people. There were already fine art and graffiti exhibitions, then underground theatre at the Rákóczi square station, and an exhibition of paintings and photos displaying the metro construction opened at the Bocskai road station, there were giant picture painting events at the Szent Gellért, then the Fővám squares, but the first concert received very positive feedback in May, too. DBR Metro Project Directorate is continuously receiving similar requests, and would like to fulfill them, too – as the works allow it at particular locations.
