The signalling and automatic train control system form an integrated electronic system using computer technology and concepts in order to guarantee the highest safety level for train operation, on the one hand, and to co-ordinate train motions, on the other hand, without any human intervention.

In the driver cabin of the motor car the driver monitors the operation of this automatic system, and in case of any trouble or extraordinary traffic situation, e.g. accident, intervenes in train control.

Train traffic and control equipment are monitored by a central traffic control center and dispatcher center. Timetable control, release of train traffic conflicts are carried out by the computer-assisted control system of the control centre. The train movements in and out of the depot are also controlled by automatic system. This automatic system can ensure high precision train traffic with a minimum 90 second headway under the timetable.
