WE INTRODUCED THE FUTÁR CONTROL CENTRE AND METRO LINE 4 TO THE MAYOR OF WARSAW

The mayors of the capital cities of the Visegrád countries (V4) visited Budapest on the invitation of Mayor István Tarlós, and following their meeting on Friday the Warsaw delegation went to see some of the most important transport development projects of Budapest, among them the FUTÁR (Messenger) control centre and the Metro Line 4 project, visiting the section under the Danube.

On the initiative of Mayor István Tarlós, the mayors of the V4 capitals met in Budapest on Thursday, 10 January 2013. The main aim of their meeting was to renew the cooperation between the V4 capitals and also to find and discuss new opportunities and initiatives of cooperation.

The event was also attended by the Mayor of Warsaw Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, who, together with her delegation, visited a number of major community transport development projects, the FUTÁR control centre and the Metro Line 4 project and its depot at Kelenföld.

The mayor and the delegation accompanying her were guided round the Fővám tér and Szent Gellért tér stations and the section of the tunnel in between under the Danube by CEO Dávid Vitézy of Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) and experts from DBR Metro Project Directorate. Later the delegation visited the Kelenföld depot, as well. A second metro line is now being built in Warsaw, thus the visit had practical purposes, as well. The Mayor of Warsaw emphasized that the transport organizer of the Polish capital, ZTM, and the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) has developed very good and regular work relations.
