THE FŐVÁM TÉR AND GELLÉRT TÉR STATIONS ARE BUILDINGS OF THE YEAR

The twin stations of Metro Line M4 at Fővám tér and Gellért have won the 2015 Building of the Year Award in the Public Architecture category in the voting competition arranged by ArchDaily, a Spanish, Portuguese and British architecture website, bringing new international success to Hungarian architecture.

The online magazine was established in 2008, and by now it has a daily readership of some 300 thousand and a monthly one of over 70 million. The significance of the award is highlighted by the fact that voting in the 14 different categories is by more than 30 thousand architects. Having received major home and international awards already, the two stations were designed by the architects of sporaarchitects studio, Tibor Dékány, Sándor Finta, Ádám Hatvani, and Orsolya Vadász.
